This is a Civilized Place for peer support and discussion
Please treat our community with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation. Please treat our community members with respect, openness and compassion. We exist to support each other as peers.
Help us make our community a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. Your views matter and all help is appreciated.
Our community is self organized. You can start your own practitioner circle. All you need is a coach (ideally someone who’s an experienced agile practitioner) and a group of people. You can use our slack channel to communicate and your circle will be listed on our website.
Get in touch if you want to start a circle, organize a meetup or conference, speak at a meetup or help the community in any other way.
Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree
You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But, remember to criticize ideas, not people. We want to create a positive atmosphere in which we help others.
Let’s try to leave our park better than we found it.
Be friendly and positive
When you see bad behavior, don’t add petrol to the fire. It encourages the bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time.
Nothing sabotages a healthy conversation like rudeness:
- Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.
- Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.
- Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
- Respect our community. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize the community.
Commerce and community
Our community is about agile and about business. The ideas, knowledge and support benefit people who work for companies. Companies are in general about commerce, profit and making money. It is OK if you wish to promote products or services that benefit our members and are related to our theme. But don’t exaggerate your promotion. If specific promotion disturbs someone, we expect that person to address that to the moderators, organizers or to the person promoting directly.
